Role Overview
We are actively searching for outstanding candidates who are prepared for significant responsibilities and eager to contribute to meaningful outcomes that drive business success. The Vice President of Finance and Accounting will be responsible for refining and overseeing financial processes, reporting, and systems. Key duties include managing the accounting functions for various Optimal divisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor divisional finance leaders, providing accounting expertise and guidance.
- Oversee comprehensive financial reporting and budgeting across Optimal, ensuring timely and accurate reporting. This includes the preparation of consolidated monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, along with budget and reforecast documentation.
- Manage cash flow forecasting and analysis.
- Assist the CFO in developing, enhancing, and maintaining accounting policies, controls, and best practices.
- Serve as the primary liaison for external auditors during the annual audit, coordinating all audit requests with divisional finance leaders.
- Collaborate with external tax accountants regarding state and federal tax matters.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and verify that month-end reconciliations are completed accurately and promptly.
- Act as the NetSuite system administrator and main contact for managed service providers.
- Oversee the accounting functions for various Optimal divisions.
- Manage the accounts payable process, including analysis of company credit card usage.
- Review and process all cash transfers and disbursements.
- Ensure timely and accurate payroll processing, including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
- Oversee monthly close processes and maintain the general ledger for the divisions.
- Monitor revenue and expenses, providing analysis and recommendations as needed.
- Prepare monthly financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and year-end reports.
- Establish and maintain financial controls within the accounting department as necessary.
- Adhere to administrative deadlines and respond promptly to requests from accounting and administrative staff.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting; CPA preferred.
- 7+ years of relevant experience; experience in the advertising/marketing services sector is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of US GAAP.
- Hands-on experience with general ledger accounting, monthly closing processes, and payroll.
- Knowledge of federal and state tax regulations and reporting requirements.
- Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to convert data into actionable insights and strategic recommendations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with ERP systems; familiarity with NetSuite is a plus.
- Proven track record of building and leading high-performing teams, emphasizing mentorship, professional development, and a collaborative work environment.
- Ability to deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced setting, with strong organizational and prioritization skills.
- Capability to build strong relationships and become a trusted partner to colleagues, advisors, stakeholders, and contacts.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
Optimal Offers:

Work Schedule
This position operates on a hybrid basis, with a standard work schedule from 9:00 A.M. to 5:30 P.M., Monday through Friday, with the understanding that evening and weekend work may be required as necessary.
