Position Summary:

Core Responsibilities:

  • Oversees and executes engineering projects related to facility maintenance and infrastructure, ensuring operational efficiency.
  • Collaborates within a team framework, providing guidance and oversight to both internal staff and external contractors.
  • Manages and evaluates the performance of support personnel involved in maintenance tasks.
  • Facilitates project management for initiatives of limited complexity, adhering to established guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develops engineering designs for facility infrastructure, production equipment, and processes, utilizing both in-house and external resources.
  • Handles more intricate projects requiring the integration of various engineering disciplines.
  • Directs project management for tasks associated with facility infrastructure and production equipment, ensuring alignment with manufacturing and distribution operations.
  • Diagnoses issues related to facility infrastructure and production equipment to support operational continuity.
  • Responds to critical situations impacting production and distribution activities.
  • Maintains budgetary control for assigned projects through effective cost management practices.
  • Conducts safety and building code assessments, implementing organizational programs to mitigate risks and enhance workplace safety.
  • Identifies and addresses potential environmental, safety, ergonomic, and health concerns.
  • Researches and evaluates suppliers for materials and services required for maintenance and construction projects.
  • Prepares procurement documents for management review and approval.

Work Schedule:

  • This role primarily operates during standard business hours, with potential for weekend overtime as needed. Occasional second shift hours may be required based on project demands.

Position Requirements:

  • The primary focus of this role is to deliver comprehensive project management and engineering solutions for facility enhancements within manufacturing environments.
  • Preferred background includes experience in Manufacturing Engineering or Maintenance.
  • Cross-functional experience in Supply Management, Quality Assurance, Environmental Compliance, or Safety is advantageous.
  • Specific tasks include:
    • Engagement with non-mobile material handling equipment, including application and installation.
    • Layout and installation of machine tools and process equipment.
    • Coordination and management of multi-disciplinary projects.
    • Consultation on dynamic factory master planning initiatives.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Seeking candidates with degrees in Civil Engineering (Construction Management focus) or Mechanical Engineering (Manufacturing focus).
  • Experience in project management is essential.
  • Cross-functional expertise in Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Supervision, or Maintenance Engineering is preferred.
  • Proven ability to coordinate multiple skilled trades and contractors to meet project goals (5+ years).
  • Experience with building infrastructure systems (mechanical, electrical, structural) (3+ years).
  • Understanding of engineering principles related to manufacturing operations (3+ years).
  • Familiarity with non-mobile material handling systems (cranes, jibs, monorails, conveyors).
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Capability to manage multiple active projects concurrently.
  • Ability to collaborate with personnel and management to communicate and coordinate project activities effectively.
  • Proficiency in computer-aided design and engineering tools.
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations.
  • Experience in a unionized work environment is beneficial.

  • Training will be provided for operating specific equipment as needed.
