About the Role

Alera Group Pittsburgh is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Account Executive to join their Employee Benefits team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for managing and servicing an assigned book of business while assisting in the growth of this book of business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and service an assigned book of business, including gathering data needed to market medical plans, obtaining quotes, and preparing spreadsheet analysis.
  • Act as a liaison with carrier partners to ensure the accuracy of carrier contracts.
  • Become proficient in all plans and products in the assigned book of business and serve as an internal resource.
  • Develop, modify, and finalize professional sales presentations, written communications, and other documents.
  • Partner with other teams to ensure client needs are met and actions are in compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
  • Manage communications from clients regarding renewal inquiries and coordinate with employers, employees, and insurance carriers to verify insurance-related data.
  • Master internal client management systems, including Act and Employee Navigator.
  • Engage clients and prospects in gathering and preparing renewal information and manage renewal and proposal processes.
  • Negotiate with carriers and other service providers on behalf of clients.
  • Identify and assist in developing cross-selling opportunities and perform insurance policy, coverage, and exposure reviews.
  • Handle day-to-day service requests and conduct open enrollment meetings.
  • Develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish assigned work.
  • Prepare documents and attend client meetings.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry developments and practices and apply a strong working knowledge of plan designs and industry trends.
Requirements
  • State Life and Health Licensed or obtain within 3 months of employment.
  • Thorough understanding of benefits and benefits processing (medical, dental, vision, LTD, STD, Life, FSA, HSA, HRA, COBRA, etc.).
  • Working knowledge of State and Federal Compliance laws.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows applications, specifically MS Office suite.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and experience.
  • 3 or more years of client coordination and/or claims management experience in a broker or carrier organization.
  • Remote schedule available.
  • Ability to attend client meetings face-to-face and willingness to travel at least 25% of the time for networking, prospecting, and to client locations and industry events.
