Purchasing Agent Role

Purpose and Scope

The Purchasing Agent will be responsible for ensuring that The Institute for Family Health acquires the necessary supplies, materials, and other relevant items within a budget and maintains accurate records of all transactions. This position works closely with clinical and administrative staff across the organization and reports directly to the Director of Purchasing.

Key Responsibilities

• Research and identify prospective suppliers

• Liaise with internal project teams and maintain strong supplier relations

• Evaluate products and suppliers according to key business criteria

• Prepare and issue purchase orders

• Inspect and evaluate the quality of purchased items and resolve shortcomings

• Analyze industry and demand trends and support senior management with the development and implementation of sourcing strategies

• Prepare reports and maintain accurate inventory and procurement records

• Analyze invoices to ensure accuracy of goods delivered

• Monitor inventory to ensure the flow of goods remains positive

• Work closely with the projects team to understand details of procurement requirements

• Comply with company policies, procedures, and regulatory standards

• Travel between sites to deliver PPE/Supplies
