The City of New York is seeking a skilled Procurement Specialist to join its team. As a key member of the procurement team, the successful candidate will be responsible for purchasing goods, services, and construction, as well as processing procurement documents and contracts.

The ideal candidate will have a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and six months of full-time, satisfactory professional, technical, or administrative experience in one or more of the following fields: program evaluation, contract negotiation/management, fiscal/financial management, or project management.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing, reviewing, and evaluating solicitation documents to ensure conformity to agency requirements and citywide standards. They will also oversee and manage presolicitation review activities, inform and assist vendors to register into Payee Information Portal (PIP) and Passport for Vendor payments and commodity codes, and analyze vendors past performance, financial status, and other factors to determine vendor responsibility.

The Procurement Specialist will also participate in the implementation of procedures for procurement activities, ensure compliance with the requirements for program evaluations of vendor performance, and utilize software applications, electronic and online databases to monitor procurement processing.
