We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Event Planning Specialist to join our team at US031 Marsh & McLennan Shared Services LLC. As an Event Planning Specialist, you will be responsible for managing and producing internal and external events from conception through completion, while providing outstanding client service in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Lead planning and execution of complex, high-level events, including in-person, virtual, and hybrid events, ranging from small meetings to large conferences.
- Develop and manage event budgets, track expenses, and review and process vendor invoices and wire transfers.
- Identify, research, and secure meeting venues, conduct site inspections, and negotiate contracts with hotels and special event spaces.
- Deliver start-to-end event services, including venue management, contracting, event timelines, attendee communications, registration, and more.
- Establish and cultivate strong relationships with hotels, restaurants, and other third-party providers.
- Post-Event Evaluation: gather feedback from attendees, analyze event metrics, and prepare post-event reports to improve future events and measure the effectiveness of event strategies.
- Bachelor's Degree
- A minimum of 5 years of Event Management experience
- Live in the NYC tri-state area
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and extended hours during event seasons
- Excellent planning and time management skills, along with outstanding organizational skills
- Ability to manage several projects at once in an organized and highly effective manner
- Strong sense of urgency and ability to problem-solve
- High-energy, confident, and initiative-taking personality
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Results-oriented with an appetite for proactively learning about the business and driven to excel and grow
- Competitive salary range: $62,000 to $124,000
