Key Responsibilities

This is a full-time permanent role within a manufacturing setting, primarily focused on the production of charitable and lottery Pull-Tabs. The successful candidate will be instrumental in guiding the activities of the finishing department Operators and Helpers, ensuring that product quality meets established standards. A significant emphasis will be placed on enhancing the efficiency of each machine center. This role will also require familiarity with the operation of various machine centers and the ability to step in as needed. Strong troubleshooting skills and technical aptitude are essential.

Additional Responsibilities Include:

  • Oversee the efforts of machine operators and teams under the guidance of the shift supervisor.
  • Assist operators with resolving machine-related issues and operate machinery when necessary.
  • Train new employees on safe equipment operation and maintenance protocols.
  • Support the shift trainer in ensuring that staff comprehend job expectations.
  • Identify and address quality concerns related to machine operations.
  • Review production schedules and recommend efficient modifications as necessary.
  • Adhere to job ticket instructions diligently.
  • Manage consumable supply inventory and report shortages.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Ensure a clean and organized work environment.
  • Exhibit safe working practices.
  • Perform other assigned duties as required.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Proven experience as recognized by department management (e.g., maintenance, lead operator in a packaging, printing, or label production environment).
  • Relevant technical training specific to job responsibilities.
  • 5 to 7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • At least 3 years of demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage a team.
  • Experience in overseeing multiple functional areas within a manufacturing facility.
  • Background in manufacturing oversight, quality control, scheduling, and performance management.
  • Ability to objectively analyze information relevant to the position.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks in an organized manner in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate work.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented setting.
  • Skill in prioritizing tasks, maintaining schedules, and following up to meet deadlines.
  • Aptitude for learning new software applications.
  • Effective troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong time management abilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a diverse workplace.
