Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Support Student Learning: Provide individualized support to students with learning or emotional disabilities, ensuring they have access to the resources and accommodations they need to succeed.
  • Collaborate with Teachers: Assist teachers in building effective instructional teams, maintaining a learning-centered environment, and planning engaging learning experiences.
  • Assist with Classroom Management: Help teachers with classroom organization, instructional materials, and behavioral support.
  • Support Student Development: Provide one-on-one or small group behavioral and academic support to students with disabilities, implementing proactive strategies and accommodations as needed.
  • Communicate with Families: Participate in regularly scheduled school meetings and share relevant information with families, ensuring a collaborative approach to student success.
Qualifications
  • Education: High School Diploma (minimum)
  • Certifications: CPR and First Aid Certified
  • Experience: Experience working with students with disabilities (preferred) and in low-income communities (preferred)
  • Skills: Strong problem-solving skills, ability to persevere with optimism, and excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Values: Belief in the potential of all students, ability to model KIPP Columbus' values (Imagine, Navigate, Seek, Persevere, Integrity, Responsibility, and Empathy)
