About the Position

We are seeking a highly qualified Lecturer of Elementary Education to join our team at Columbus State University. As a member of our faculty, you will play a critical role in shaping the next generation of educators and contributing to the university's mission of providing exceptional education to our students.

Responsibilities
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate candidates in pre-service programs, with a focus on elementary education.
  • Mentor students and work collaboratively with internal and external partners and agencies.
  • Develop and implement effective teaching strategies, including online and face-to-face instruction.
  • Assist with program evaluation and curriculum development.
  • Supervise student teachers, interns, and practicum students.
  • Contribute to the department's service and administrative tasks.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Elementary or Early Childhood Education or a related field.
  • Two years' experience working with elementary and/or early childhood students.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to use technology for synchronous and asynchronous instruction.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Doctorate in Elementary or Early Childhood Education or a related field.
  • Experience teaching multiple courses and content areas in the Elementary Education Program.
  • Pre-K-5 teaching experience in U.S. public schools.
  • Collaboration with Pre-K-5 schools/partners in a Professional Development Schools.
