Our operations rely on a Senior Video Conferencing Solutions Engineer to support various initiatives across the Department of Energy in multiple locations.

As a Senior Video Conferencing Solutions Engineer, you will be entrusted with complex projects, overseeing technical, administrative, and operational management of diverse development efforts ranging from straightforward to intricate.

Key Responsibilities:
- Possess extensive experience with AV VTC equipment and be a certified programmer for all services involving modifications or reprogramming of control equipment.
- Design and develop Unified Communications and Video Conferencing systems.
- Configure and maintain Voice and Video Conferencing Systems.
- Lead delivery efforts at client sites.
- Assess vulnerabilities and ensure security compliance of the Voice and Video Conferencing Systems.
- Provide support for both scheduled and unplanned outages, regardless of scale and impact.
- Mentor and provide guidance to less-experienced VC/UC personnel, potentially taking on supervisory roles.

- Serve as the escalation point for Tier 1 and Tier 2 technicians across all communication platforms.


- Conduct expert-level analysis of voice, video, and integration with data communications networks, including planning, designing, evaluating, selecting, and upgrading operating systems and protocol suites.
- Plan and configure systems for user environments.
- Support hardware and software acquisition as well as subcontractor services as necessary.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant technologies.
- Participate in special projects as required.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders to determine strategic video and collaboration needs.

- Maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, including diagrams and standard operating procedures.
- Review reports and logs for issues and identify appropriate solutions, including developing workflows for lower-tier support levels.
- Provide primary and backup support in the maintenance of Video and UC hardware and software.
- Demonstrate the ability to prepare diagrams and documentation for multiple audiences, including federal customer leadership and contractors.
- Create project plans and presentations for executive management, along with technical working diagrams and checklists for operational staff.

- Develop technical and non-technical standard operating procedures.
- Submit Change Control Proposals for the Change Approval Board.

- Develop and update technical documentation in support of certification and accreditation for the network.

- Assist and lead problem resolution activities, coordinating with vendors, tracking and escalating trouble tickets, identifying and implementing service restoration workarounds, performing root cause analysis, and interfacing with customers at all levels to report status and lessons learned.


- Hold Video Teleconferencing Certifications, including programming certifications.
- Exhibit excellent problem-solving skills.
- IAT II 8570 certification (Security+ CE).
- Security Clearance Level TS/DOE Q.
- Willingness to submit to random drug screening.
- Travel requirement: 25-50%.
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, technical certifications, training, or work experience.
7-12 years of directly related experience in network analysis and design.

Skills:
Experience in Voice and Video Engineering, Infrastructure including:
- Design, Maintenance, Support, Deployment, Implementation, Systems Engineering.
- Advanced knowledge in Cisco Unified Communications Systems, QoS Quality of Service, Cisco Unity Connection.

VCS:
- Streaming Video, Cisco Video devices including endpoints and Multi-point Control Units (MCUs), and Cisco Expressway solutions.
- Familiarity with Crestron and Codex VTC units, Microsoft Teams, and other collaboration tools (Webex).
- A video teleconferencing certification is required.
- Strong background with Cisco Meeting Server, VQ Conference Manager, Cisco Unified Communications Manager, and/or Microsoft Teams.
- Experience managing virtualized applications or knowledge of how to manage virtualized applications.
