Position Overview

Compass Group Careers is seeking a Director of Environmental Services to lead and manage the operational aspects of the Housekeeping Department. This role involves coordinating the efforts of Assistant Directors and Operations Managers while acting as a key liaison between hospital administration and various departments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee financial metrics and statistics for the department.
  • Monitor expenditures within the unit.
  • Develop and propose the operational budget for the department, ensuring adherence to financial guidelines.
  • Coordinate housekeeping functions with other departments to ensure seamless operations.
  • Maintain active communication with administration and hospital departments.
  • Plan, organize, direct, and supervise departmental functions and activities.
  • Establish work standards and streamline workflows.
  • Implement policies and procedures to enhance departmental operations.
  • Foster an environment that encourages staff creativity and innovation.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory agencies.
  • Proactively work towards achieving facility goals and objectives.
  • Exhibit strong leadership qualities in meeting performance targets.
  • Administer and develop the Total Quality Management process.
  • Create and maintain job descriptions for departmental staff.
  • Encourage staff participation in educational programs.
Preferred Qualifications
  • A four-year degree or equivalent experience is required.
  • A minimum of six years of management experience in housekeeping within a healthcare setting is essential.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret financial and operational data.
  • Strong business acumen and interpersonal skills.
  • High standards of customer service and quality.
  • Capacity to work effectively under pressure while meeting established goals.
  • Public speaking proficiency.
  • Ability to manage staff through a collaborative approach, prioritize tasks, and develop budgets with a comprehensive understanding of facility needs.
  • Excellent skills in stress management, administration, organization, and follow-through.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
