Role Summary

As the Director of Environmental Services, you will take charge of overseeing the operational aspects of the Housekeeping Department. Your role will involve coordinating the efforts of Assistant Directors and Operations Managers while acting as a key link between administration and various hospital departments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the financial metrics and statistics of the department.
  • Monitor expenditures within the unit.
  • Develop and propose the operating budget for the department, ensuring adherence to financial guidelines.
  • Coordinate housekeeping operations with other departmental functions.
  • Maintain active communication with administration and other hospital sectors.
  • Plan, organize, direct, and supervise departmental functions and activities.
  • Establish work standards and streamline workflows.
  • Implement policies and procedures for efficient departmental operations.
  • Foster staff creativity and innovation through mentorship.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory agencies.
  • Proactively pursue the facility's goals and objectives.
  • Exhibit strong leadership in achieving performance targets.
  • Oversee the Total Quality Management process.
  • Develop and maintain job descriptions for departmental staff.
  • Encourage staff participation in educational initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications
  • A four-year college degree or equivalent relevant experience.
  • A minimum of six years of management experience in housekeeping within a healthcare setting.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret financial and operational data.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to high-quality customer service.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure while meeting established objectives.
  • Public speaking proficiency.
