Job Title: Senior Advisor, Bloomberg Center for Government Excellence

The Bloomberg Center for Government Excellence at Johns Hopkins University seeks a Senior Advisor to support senior government leaders in using data to drive better outcomes for residents.

As a Senior Advisor, you will play a critical role in delivering world-class coaching and technical assistance to city teams, facilitating training and workshops, and collaborating on the design of new learning opportunities.

With a strong background in public policy, public administration, or a related field, you will have the ability to collect and synthesize information, manage complex relationships, and communicate effectively with stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide coaching and technical assistance to city teams in developing and implementing data and performance management practices.
  • Facilitate on-site and virtual trainings and workshops for city teams with academic, government, nonprofit, and other external partners.
  • Design and develop new learning opportunities, curriculum, and resources in collaboration with GovEx Academy.
  • Prepare reports, summaries, presentations, and other work products for distribution to the Center's leadership and external partners.
  • Contribute to internal strategy development, continuous improvement of existing programs, and the design and execution of new programs.
  • Identify, recruit, and liaise with new government partners to participate in our programming.
Requirements:
  • Master's Degree in a related discipline.
  • One year of related experience.
  • Additional education may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • At least ten (10) years of relevant experience working in public policy, public administration, or a related field, particularly within local or state governments.
  • Bi-lingual / Multilingual (Spanish and/or Portuguese) candidates are encouraged to apply given our growing work across Latin American cities.
