About the Role

The Bloomberg Center for Government Excellence at Johns Hopkins University seeks a highly skilled Senior Advisor to support senior government leaders in leveraging data to drive better outcomes for residents.

This is a unique opportunity to join a team of experts in government, data, and performance practice, and contribute to the development and implementation of data-driven strategies in local, state, and national governments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide coaching and technical assistance to government teams in developing and implementing data management practices.
  • Design and deliver training programs and workshops for government officials, leveraging expertise from academic, government, and nonprofit partners.
  • Collaborate with the GovEx Academy to develop new learning opportunities, curriculum, and resources.
  • Prepare reports, summaries, and presentations for distribution to the Center's leadership and external partners.
  • Contribute to internal strategy development, program improvement, and new program design.
  • Identify and establish relationships with new government partners to participate in our programming.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • At least one year of experience in government, public policy, or a related field.
  • Additional education may substitute for required experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • At least ten years of experience in public policy, public administration, or a related field, particularly in local or state governments.
  • Bi-lingual or multilingual candidates are encouraged to apply, given our growing work across Latin American cities.
