Job Summary

The Head of Development will lead and manage the fundraising and development efforts for The Chamber of Digital Commerce. This role involves creating and implementing comprehensive strategies to secure financial support from individuals, foundations, and corporations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fundraising, excellent communication skills, and a passion for the digital asset and blockchain industry.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Fundraising Strategy Development and Implementation: Develop and execute comprehensive fundraising strategies to meet and exceed annual financial goals. Analyze the effectiveness of fundraising strategies and make data-driven adjustments as necessary. Work closely with the executive team to align fundraising efforts with organizational goals and priorities.
  2. Donor Cultivation and Stewardship: Cultivate and maintain relationships with current and prospective donors, including individuals, foundations, and corporate sponsors. Develop personalized engagement plans for major donors and prospects. Ensure regular, meaningful communication with donors, including updates on the impact of their contributions.
  3. Research and Identification of Funding Sources: Identify and research potential funding sources, including sponsorships, and partnerships. Create strategy for prospecting of new Member leads. Stay informed about trends and opportunities in the fundraising landscape, particularly within the digital asset and blockchain sectors.
  4. Event Planning and Coordination: Work with the events team to maximize new member prospecting and conversion at events. Develop strategies to maximize event revenue and donor engagement.
  5. Collaboration with Marketing and Communications: Collaborate with the marketing and communications team to develop messaging that supports fundraising efforts. Ensure fundraising communications are consistent with the organization's brand and values. Utilize digital marketing tools and social media to enhance fundraising campaigns.
  6. Monitoring and Reporting: Monitor and report on fundraising progress to the executive team and board of directors. Develop and maintain systems for tracking and analyzing fundraising data. Prepare regular reports on fundraising activities, achievements, and challenges.
  7. Compliance and Ethical Standards: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and ethical standards in fundraising. Maintain a high level of transparency and accountability in all fundraising activities.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in fundraising, development, or a related field.
  • Proven track record of successfully securing major gifts, grants, and corporate sponsorships.
  • Strong understanding of the digital asset and blockchain industry.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Strong team-work and collaboration skills to be team-leader across organization for all development efforts.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Proficiency in using fundraising software and CRM systems.
  • Experience with data analysis and performance metrics in fundraising.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
