Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Night Custodian to join our team at Robbinsdale Area Schools. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising building custodial staff, maintaining building systems and equipment, and ensuring overall building cleanliness and security.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and direct custodial staff to ensure efficient and effective cleaning and maintenance of the building
  • Maintain and repair building systems and equipment, including mechanical and electrical systems
  • Ensure overall building cleanliness and security, including monitoring and responding to alarms and emergencies
  • Perform preventative maintenance and troubleshooting of facility systems
  • Operate and utilize building security systems, including door access control and CCTV
  • Utilize electronic work order system to submit work requests and track maintenance and repairs
  • Set up rooms for conferences, classes, and special events
  • Maintain favorable public relations as a representative of Robbinsdale Area Schools
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • First class boiler's license (current, posted, and maintained) or willingness to obtain within an agreed timeline
  • Certified Pool Operator Certification
  • Ability to work independently and perform position responsibilities with a minimum of supervision
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships with supervisor, coworkers, building staff, and visitors
  • Ability to follow schedules and adjust priorities based on needs and respond to emergencies
  • Ability to read and comprehend material data sheets, building plans, specifications, and operation and maintenance manuals
  • Ability to perform service, troubleshooting, and repairs to facility systems
Preferred Qualifications
  • Vocational-Technical education or training in building maintenance or construction of electrical or mechanical systems
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent lifting and moving of equipment and materials. The ability to work at heights and in confined spaces is also required.
