Job Overview:
The Night Custodian plays a vital role in ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of school facilities during evening hours. This position is essential for creating a safe and welcoming environment for students, staff, and faculty.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform thorough cleaning of assigned areas, including hallways, restrooms, and classrooms, following established cleaning protocols.
  • Assist in the movement of furniture and equipment for various school events and activities.
  • Maintain the exterior grounds, including athletic fields and playgrounds, ensuring they are safe and well-kept.
  • Conduct snow and ice removal as needed, and care for district lawns and landscaping.
  • Support skilled maintenance staff in routine repairs and maintenance tasks.

Qualifications:
A high school diploma or GED is required. Candidates must obtain a special class boilers license within six months of employment. A 2nd Class Boilers License is preferred.

Essential Skills:
  • Knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and safety procedures.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining cleanliness.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a diverse group of individuals.

Physical Requirements:
This position requires regular physical activity, including lifting, standing, and moving throughout the facility. Candidates should be prepared to handle various cleaning equipment and materials safely.

Special Requirements:
A valid driver's license is required. Experience in a multicultural environment is preferred.
