About Us:
Abe Brown Ministries (ABM) is a dedicated non-profit organization with over 45 years of service. Our Re-Entry Program focuses on assisting individuals with prior incarceration experiences, providing essential job placement and support services in various counties.
Role Summary:
We are seeking a Re-Entry Program Employment Coach to oversee the complete client placement process within our Re-Entry Program. The Employment Coach will guide clients in applying career development concepts to real-world scenarios, helping them set professional goals and develop strategies for long-term success in the workplace.
Key Responsibilities:
- Client Support:
- Conduct assessments during Professional Development sessions to identify job skills for matching clients with appropriate employment opportunities.
- Assist in ensuring clients complete core deliverables, including assessments and mock interviews.
- Facilitate interest inventory assessments and employment profiles for clients.
- Perform evaluations to document client strengths and areas for improvement.
- Review case notes to coach clients on tailored employment plans and market opportunities.
- Provide comprehensive case management and assessment activities as needed.
- Organize and lead workshops on employability skills using relevant data and case studies.
- Ensure clients complete necessary pre-interview requirements.
- Transport clients to interviews when required.
- Debrief clients post-interview and assist with follow-up communications.
- Collaborate with clients and case managers to prepare for their first day of employment.
- Maintain regular communication with clients to address job-related concerns.
- Coordinate vocational training with community partners.
- Collaboration:
- Hold weekly meetings with the Business Development Manager to assess client readiness and job opportunities.
- Schedule workshops in conjunction with Professional Development classes.
- Assist in planning professional development modules as needed.
- Community Engagement:
- Understand community business needs and advocate for the value of the ex-offender population in the workforce.
- Conduct site visits to strengthen employer partnerships during the initial employment period.
- Organize community service activities to promote awareness.
- Engage in outreach to educate potential partners about service solutions.
- Administrative Duties:
- Stay informed about relevant laws and initiatives supporting the ex-offender population.
- Prepare professional reports and documentation for the Re-Entry Program.
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of all data and reports.
- Submit necessary documentation regarding client progress.
- Manage the Fidelity Bond Certification process when applicable.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required; master's degree preferred.
- Career Coach Certification is advantageous; certification required during employment if not already obtained.
- Minimum of two years of experience in human services.
- Proficient in computer use and adaptable to new software.
- Demonstrated success in business-to-business sales.
- Experience working with underserved populations.
- Strong documentation and communication skills.
- Able to work effectively with diverse communities.
- Proven ability to motivate clients towards achieving their goals.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding clients and colleagues.
- Valid Driver's License required.
- Professional appearance and adherence to dress code expected.
- Experience in a non-profit setting is a plus.
