Job Title: Wellness Coach

Join the Sulphur Springs YMCA team as a Wellness Coach, where you will play a vital role in promoting healthy lifestyles and well-being among our members.

Job Summary:

The Wellness Coach is responsible for providing exercise education and safety to members on the wellness floor. This includes assisting members in achieving their health and wellness goals through member engagement, orientation assessments, and maintaining a safe and clean environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to the Association operating policies and procedures by operating programs within established guidelines.
  • Maintain and clean equipment and wellness-related rooms according to the schedule or as requested by supervisor/leadership.
  • Ensure the highest quality of service is provided to members.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Wellness Director.
  • Follow YMCA policies and procedures regarding the safety, health, and welfare of members, program participants, guests, and staff.
  • Respond to emergency situations in accordance with facility policies and certification requirements.
  • Complete all job-related meetings and trainings as required.
  • Maintain all job-related certifications in an active status.
Requirements:
  • Must exhibit consistency and reliability, a cheerful and positive attitude, and a willingness to serve and help others.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
  • Preferred candidates have prior work/volunteer experience in the fitness industry, customer service, or a related field.
Work Environment and Physical Demands:

The physical demands of this role include the ability to plan, lead, and participate in classes and activities, verbally and physically communicate program content, and perform all physical aspects of the position, including lifting equipment and standing for extended periods.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, and the ability to work in a variety of environments, including those subject to extreme humidity/dampness, heat, and cold, is required.

Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed, is also required.
