Swim Coach Opportunity at Sulphur Springs YMCA

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Swim Coach to join our team at Sulphur Springs YMCA. As a Swim Coach, you will play a vital role in developing and implementing workout plans, leading practices, and evaluating swimmer performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the development and implementation of swim team workouts and training plans.
  • Lead supervised practices and dry land trainings, ensuring attendance is documented.
  • Evaluate swimmer ability and performance, planning strategies for improvement.
  • Coordinate and execute swim team competitions and meet registrations.
  • Attend specified competitions, training, and special events as directed.
  • Develop and implement recruitment and retention strategies for athletes.
  • Follow all safety recommendations and guidelines per Tampa YMCA policies and USA Swimming.
  • Communicate program information effectively and in a timely manner to supervisors, participants, and their families.
  • Establish and maintain a team attitude, encouraging good sportsmanship.
  • Attend all required staff meetings.
Requirements:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High School Diploma preferred.
  • A minimum of 2+ years of experience coaching swimming or 2+ years in competitive swimming.
  • Knowledge of USA regulations and safety requirements.
Certifications/Trainings:
  • Must obtain within 30 days of employment and maintain current certifications in BLS CPR/AED, First Aid, and Oxygen Administration.
  • USA Swimming Coaching Certification required.
