Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement engaging sports clinics, focusing on skill development and teamwork.
  • Work closely with program participants, parents, and staff to create a positive and inclusive environment.
  • Ensure compliance with YMCA policies and procedures, maintaining a high level of professionalism and sportsmanship.
  • Conduct regular equipment checks, ensuring proper setup and maintenance of facilities.
  • Respond promptly to accidents or incidents, prioritizing participant safety and well-being.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with participants, members, and guests, promoting a positive experience.
  • Attend and actively participate in all trainings, staff meetings, and in-services as assigned.
Requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience coaching and/or training in sports.
  • Working knowledge of game rules and equipment for basketball.
  • Demonstrates objectivity in emotional situations, maintaining patience, confidence, and composure under pressure.
  • Effective oral communication, conveying information clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to develop positive, authentic relationships with diverse groups and individuals.
  • Represents the YMCA in a positive manner.
Certifications/Trainings
  • Must obtain within 30 days of employment and maintain current certifications in community CPR/AED and First Aid.
  • Maintains position-specific required certifications as stated in the training matrix.
