This position is well-suited for individuals with a robust foundation in network management, especially in an Internet Service Provider (ISP) context, and familiarity with Juniper, Cisco, and Arista networking equipment.

Position Overview:

As a NOC Support Engineer, you will play a critical role in maintaining the integrity, stability, and efficiency of the organization's expansive network framework. This position requires a proactive professional who can effectively monitor, diagnose, and rectify intricate network challenges in real-time, ensuring minimal service interruptions and optimal performance.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and administer the network framework, including devices from Juniper, Cisco, and Arista.
  • Address and resolve network incidents and outages promptly to maintain high service availability.
  • Evaluate and troubleshoot network performance concerns, escalating issues as necessary for swift resolution.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to facilitate network modifications, upgrades, and enhancements.
  • Maintain documentation of network events, incidents, and resolutions to ensure accurate records and enhance future responses.
  • Assist in the rollout of new network devices and configurations within the NOC.
  • Engage in on-call duties to provide 24/7 network support as needed.

Essential Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in a Network Operations Center (NOC) or a comparable role.
  • Practical experience with Juniper, Cisco, and Arista networking devices.
  • Demonstrated experience in an ISP environment, with a comprehensive understanding of ISP networking protocols and challenges.
  • Strong knowledge of routing and switching protocols (BGP, OSPF, MPLS, etc.).
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment, managing multiple tasks and addressing critical network issues.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and meticulous attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Juniper Networks Certified Internet Associate (JNCIA), Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), or equivalent certifications.
  • Experience with network monitoring solutions such as SolarWinds, Nagios, or similar tools.
  • Familiarity with automation and scripting for network operations (Python, Bash, etc.).
