Position Overview

The Georgia Real Estate Commission is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented investigator to conduct thorough inquiries into real estate practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute investigations as mandated by the agency, focusing on:
    • Claims of misconduct by licensed professionals and organizations involved in real estate transactions and appraisals.
    • Assessment of real estate firms' operational practices and trust account management.
    • Validation of applications submitted to the agency.
  • Conduct interviews with individuals possessing relevant knowledge and evidence pertaining to ongoing investigations.
  • Draft comprehensive written reports for supervisory review based on investigative findings.
  • Provide testimony in administrative hearings or court proceedings as necessary.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as directed by the supervisor.
  • Participate in a hybrid work model, with initial training conducted in-office.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook, along with strong written and verbal communication skills, as the role involves interviewing and producing detailed case documentation.
  • A valid real estate broker license in Georgia or another state is mandatory, with the requirement that the license be placed on inactive status during employment with the Commission.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in real estate brokerage is essential, including experience in managing other licensees and reviewing contracts and real estate documents.
  • A solid understanding of the daily operations of real estate professionals is required.
  • Candidates must provide three reference letters that confirm their strong work ethic, effective communication skills, and ability to function well within an organizational framework.
