Position Overview:

We are looking for a seasoned and meticulous Financial Controller to manage the financial activities of our real estate development initiatives. The Controller will oversee all financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance activities. This role demands a robust understanding of real estate finance, accounting standards, and industry-specific regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting:
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records in compliance with GAAP.
Coordinate with external auditors and manage the annual audit process.

Budgeting and Forecasting:
Develop and oversee project budgets, including cost tracking and variance analysis.
Prepare cash flow forecasts and monitor project financing requirements.
Collaborate closely with project managers to ensure financial alignment with project objectives.

Accounting and Compliance:
Supervise accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger operations.
Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local tax regulations.
Implement and maintain internal controls to protect company assets.

Financial Analysis:
Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making for real estate investments and development initiatives.
Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and identify areas for enhancement.

Team Leadership:
Lead and mentor the finance and accounting team.
Promote a collaborative and high-performance work culture.
Ensure ongoing professional development and training for team members.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification preferred.
A minimum of 7-10 years of experience in accounting/finance, with at least 5 years in a controller or similar role within the real estate development sector.
Strong knowledge of real estate finance, development, and construction accounting.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Yardi, MRI, Sage) and advanced Excel skills.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
