Position Overview

The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) is seeking a dedicated professional for the role of Healthcare Facilities Quality and Regulatory Affairs Officer.

This position is integral to the Health Care Facilities Practice (HCFP) and reports directly to the Executive Director of Healthcare Facilities within DPHHS. The officer will play a pivotal role in overseeing compliance and regulatory programs across seven state-operated healthcare facilities. Responsibilities include strategic planning and operational leadership focused on compliance and regulatory matters, as well as the management of a comprehensive compliance program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage compliance, regulatory, and privacy initiatives for seven state-run healthcare facilities.
  • Serve as the HIPAA Compliance Officer, ensuring adherence to privacy regulations across multiple facilities.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures that comply with state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Engage with various stakeholders to promote initiatives that ensure program compliance.
  • Conduct annual compliance audits and assessments to evaluate healthcare and privacy compliance, enhancing programs based on findings.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, healthcare, or a related field.
  • A minimum of ten years of experience in the healthcare sector, particularly in regulatory compliance within highly regulated environments.
  • At least five years of experience in compliance, privacy, and program management, with the ability to operate independently and advise senior management.
  • Thorough understanding of governmental requirements for healthcare compliance programs.
  • Proficient in managing administrative functions across a diverse healthcare delivery system.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of delivering clear and persuasive presentations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proven track record of collaborating effectively to address complex issues.
  • Ability to cultivate and maintain relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including government officials and healthcare providers.
