Job Overview

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Foster a welcoming environment for customers, prioritizing prompt and courteous service.
  • Assist patrons with product recommendations, special requests, and culinary advice.
  • Utilize effective sales techniques through various communication channels, including phone and in-person interactions.
  • Adhere to operational protocols and production processes to enhance profitability.
  • Responsible for cleaning and preparing fresh seafood.
  • Prepare, package, and present meat, seafood, and poultry products while ensuring appealing displays and maintaining cleanliness.
  • Accurately weigh, package, and label products at the Butcher Block. Ensure product freshness and quality through proper stocking and rotation.
  • Prepare seafood dishes and samples for customer tasting.
  • Develop and implement promotional displays and maintain equipment related to meat storage.
  • Follow departmental standards for handling quick sale items.
  • Maintain appropriate temperature controls during all stages of food preparation and storage.
  • Possess specific knowledge of departmental operations.
  • Assist with packaged meat responsibilities.
  • Understand the procedures for opening and closing the department.
  • Familiarity with company policies as outlined in the employee handbook.
  • Ensure compliance with product dating regulations.
  • Participate in monthly inventory assessments.
  • Manage inventory levels to guarantee product availability and quality.
  • Minimize product loss through effective shrink control.
  • Implement proper food preparation methods.
  • Operate various equipment, including pallet jacks and cutting tools.
  • Maintain accurate records through daily logs and production charts.
  • Perform receiving duties, including verifying orders and inspecting product quality.
  • Ensure compliance with labeling laws and temperature regulations.
  • Adhere to workplace safety standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in all work areas.
  • Follow grooming and dress code standards.
  • Execute all job responsibilities with integrity and accuracy.
  • Perform other related duties as necessary.

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a professional demeanor.
  • Understanding of company practices and departmental policies.
  • Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 80 lbs and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Good manual dexterity and coordination are essential.
  • Mental alertness for safe and precise task completion.
  • Basic math skills and knowledge of product handling and sanitation.
  • Experience operating various tools and equipment.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
  • Awareness of potential hazards associated with equipment usage.
