AppleTree's mission is to bridge the achievement gap prior to students entering kindergarten. Our focus is solely on Pre-K education.

We offer complimentary, full-day public charter school programs for three- and four-year-olds across multiple locations, utilizing our innovative instructional model known as Every Child Ready (ECR).

This model equips educators with essential tools and resources for effective teaching and measuring success, and it is also implemented with partners nationwide.

We consistently refine this model based on feedback from AppleTree educators, partners, and stakeholders to ensure that children engage in learning through play and suitable instruction.

Community Engagement and Student Recruitment (60%)

Act as the primary Family Point of Contact from the admissions application stage through to audit count day.

Organize and implement at least one recruitment event or activity each month, often scheduled for weekends and evenings.

Record activities and events in Salesforce, analyzing trends for the Recruitment and Enrollment Team.

Develop communications materials (flyers, posts, etc.) for community engagement.


Disseminate monthly network-wide content that includes pertinent news, upcoming events, and best practices for parents to school-level personnel.

Assist with recruitment communications directed at interested families and applicants, utilizing various channels.

Engage with prospective students and their families, delivering exceptional customer service.

Provide support through telephone, email, and in-person interactions for applicant families.


Stay informed about family-oriented activities and events that present opportunities to promote AppleTree Schools' mission and vision.

Guide families through the enrollment process and the MSDC lottery system.


Manage outreach initiatives aimed at boosting student enrollment, enhancing community partnerships, and providing families with new avenues for involvement in the school community.


Foster external partnerships with local businesses, non-profit organizations, and community groups to strengthen the ties between the specified schools and the local community.

School Engagement (30%)


Collaborate with Principals and Operations Specialists to provide planning and support for engagement activities that foster school community.

Assist schools with planned tours, information sessions, and open houses.

Secure and oversee extracurricular activities that promote student recruitment and retention.

Build and maintain relationships with parents, educators, administrators, and community members.

Create and distribute internal and external communications while enhancing the schools' social media presence relevant to the campus assignment.

Lead and assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of school events, campaigns, and initiatives.

Organize and coordinate parent volunteers and parent groups.

Family Support (10%)


Work with the Social Work team to identify family needs and community resources to coordinate support at the school.

Partner with the Principal to enhance the experience during Parent Teacher Conferences.

Assist in conducting home visits.

Facilitate the onboarding of new families to school values and policies during orientation.

What we're looking for...

A Bachelor's degree is preferred.


1-3 years of professional experience in sales, business development, recruitment-related functions, customer engagement, or campaign operations within a business, non-profit, education, community engagement, or advocacy organization.


A strong passion for AppleTree's mission to close the achievement gap and an ability to effectively communicate information about AppleTree's programs, services, and value proposition.

Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and cultural competency skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse populations.

Capability to work collaboratively in a team environment while also being able to follow through independently to complete tasks as needed.

Outstanding organizational and time management skills, with a keen attention to detail.

A positive and energetic demeanor when interacting with potential families.


Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and/or Google applications (Sheets, Docs, Slides, Google Drive), with the capacity to learn new technologies (CRM – Salesforce, video conferencing, etc.).

Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and exercise discretion in sensitive conversations.

Ability to engage families in meaningful dialogue about AppleTree schools.

Flexibility and willingness to work evenings and weekends.

Current or former AppleTree families are encouraged to apply.

Bilingual candidates, proficient in speaking, reading, and writing in additional languages, are encouraged to apply.
