About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Family Support Specialist to join our team at Seneca Family of Agencies. As a Family Support Specialist, you will work directly with caregivers and families to provide peer support and coordinate parent support activities and resources.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide non-judgmental, unconditional support to children and families participating in the Wraparound with Intensive Services (WISe) program.
  • Act as a member of the Child and Family Team (CFT), designated as the individual support person to the parent or identified family member.
  • Assist with coordinating and providing transportation for school, therapy, court hearings, or other pertinent treatment appointments/activities.
  • Work in coordination with primary caregiver, Care Coordinators, Clinicians, Youth Partners, and other supports identified by the client to participate in all functions of the CFT, including planning meetings, assisting in designing treatment plans, and submitting incident reports and other necessary documentation in a timely and complete manner.
  • Participate in supervision with the Family Support Specialist Supervisor and maintain accurate documentation and paperwork, including mental health notes, time sheets, petty cash, and mileage.
  • Commit to and engage in self-evaluation as well as organizational goals, strategies, and systemic practices regarding diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Requirements
  • Lived experience parenting a child who has received mental or behavioral health treatment; OR involvement with cross-system (Juvenile Justice; Mental and/or Behavioral Health treatment; Special Education; Substance Use Disorder Treatment) involvement.
  • Minimum 21 years of age.
  • Clearance of TB test, fingerprints, and any other state or federal requirements.
  • Own vehicle; Valid Washington Drivers License and insurability by Seneca's automobile insurance carrier.
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccinations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous paid or unpaid experience working with youth and families.
  • Proficient in collaborating within multidisciplinary teams and fostering teamwork across diverse populations.
  • Strong writing and organizational skills.
  • Interest in working with youth and families.

  • Actual salary is dependent on creditable experience above the minimum qualifications for the role.
