Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced MRI Technologist to join our team at Spire Orthopedic Partners. As an MRI Technologist, you will be responsible for preparing and positioning patients for MRI scans, ensuring the highest level of patient care and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and position patients for MRI scans, including setting up equipment and patient positioning.
  • Screen patients and personnel for ferrous metal implants or other objects that may interfere with the MRI scan.
  • Select appropriate pulse sequences from the monitoring console for scan procedures and accurately record all pulse sequences implemented.
  • Evaluate results of scanning procedures for quality and completeness, and manipulate images to display to physicians.
  • Photograph images from the LCD display and process films for quality control.
  • Send images to the PACS system, evaluate exams for completeness, and verify exams in a timely manner.
  • Perform daily Quality Assurance tests on equipment and monitor proper levels of cryogens to ensure magnet integrity.
  • Inform MRI Supervisor or Office Manager of system problems and document accurately and completely.
  • Seek advice from appropriate resources when unsure of protocol or policy.
  • Provide excellent patient care, including starting IV lines for patients requiring contrast for MRI examinations.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an approved school of radiology (two-year course).
  • Valid Connecticut X-Ray/MRI Technician license and ARRT registration.
  • Minimum two years' experience as an MRI Technician, with orthopedic and/or neurological experience preferred.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
