Incentive Program:

Position Overview:
The Clinical Support Technician I is required for the Neurosurgery / Neurology Acute Care Unit, a specialized 32-bed facility dedicated to the care of patients undergoing neurosurgical and neurological treatments, including a 7-bed Epilepsy Monitoring Unit.

Unit Description:
This unit operates as a comprehensive medical-surgical environment, providing care for individuals with conditions such as spinal and brain surgeries, brain tumors, strokes, seizures, and neuromuscular disorders like Myasthenia Gravis and Guillain-Barré Syndrome.

Work Schedule:
This is a full-time position requiring 36 hours per week, with 12-hour night shifts from 7 PM to 7:30 AM, including weekend and holiday rotations.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist healthcare professionals during routine examinations and procedures, ensuring the availability of necessary equipment and supplies.
2. Monitor patient care documentation, noting significant changes in patient conditions and promptly reporting to registered nurses or physicians.
3. Perform various clerical duties, including organizing workloads, greeting visitors, researching information for healthcare providers, reviewing and revising orders, answering calls, transcribing orders, and maintaining medical records.
4. Conduct routine quality assurance checks, safety audits, and inventory management of supplies, while providing administrative support for performance improvement audits and data entry.
5. Offer clinical support by maintaining cleanliness in work areas, managing office equipment, troubleshooting software and hardware issues, changing linens, checking supply levels, restocking, transporting patients and specimens, and assisting in the orientation of new staff.
6. Deliver direct personal care to patients as outlined in their care plans, including bathing, dressing, feeding, and assisting with mobility.
7. Measure and document vital signs, height, and weight, and may be involved in specimen collection, skin preparations, catheter care, blood glucose checks, simple wound care, and range of motion exercises.
8. Reinforce patient education provided by registered nurses or physicians and document patient comprehension of instructions.

Qualifications:
Education:
- High School diploma or GED required.

Licensure/Certification:
- Must be listed on the Nurse Aide I Registry with the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification is required.

Experience:
- Minimum of one year in clerical or customer service roles, along with six months of relevant nursing assistant experience, which may include completion of a nursing assistant course or a combination of education, training, and experience.

Skills and Abilities:
- Proficiency in verbal and written English is essential. Ability to develop computer skills if not already competent.
