This role encompasses the responsibilities of both a Nursing Assistant II and a Health Unit Coordinator. Candidates must possess current certifications as a Nursing Assistant I and Nursing Assistant II.
The Gynecology Oncology Clinic prides itself on a cohesive team committed to delivering compassionate patient care while supporting one another in a high-functioning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist professional caregivers in delivering patient care.
- Transport patients and/or equipment as needed.
- Set up and maintain patient rooms.
- Perform various clerical, transcription, and maintenance tasks for the patient care unit desk area.
In this role, you will:
- Support physicians and healthcare providers during routine examinations and procedures.
- Procure necessary equipment and supplies.
- Critically assess patient care documentation, noting significant changes in patient conditions, and report these to a registered nurse or physician.
- Handle clerical tasks such as organizing workloads, greeting visitors, and maintaining medical records.
- Conduct routine quality assurance audits and safety checks.
- Provide administrative support, including data entry and PI audits.
Additionally, you will:
- Maintain a clean work area and office equipment.
- Troubleshoot common software and hardware issues.
- Assist in patient transport and supply management.
- Support the orientation of new employees and students.
Clinical support tasks may include:
- Specimen collection and basic wound care.
- Conducting capillary blood glucose checks and range of motion exercises.
- Reinforcing patient education provided by registered nurses or physicians.
Qualifications:
- Must be listed as a Nursing Assistant I by the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services.
- Licensed as a Nursing Assistant II by the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
- One year of clerical or customer service experience and three months of nursing assistant experience are necessary.
- Fluency in verbal and written English is essential.
- Ability to develop computer skills if not already competent.
Work Type: Per Diem
Compensation: $86 per hour (Hiring Range)
