About the Position

The Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University is seeking a faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor to serve as the Center of Operational Medicine Director. This is a full-time, 12-month appointment with a competitive salary and benefits package.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and administrative oversight for the Center of Operational Medicine, including supervision of instructors, staff, and faculty.
  • Develop and implement educational programs and training courses in emergency medicine, tactical medicine, and disaster response.
  • Collaborate with the AU Critical Event Preparedness and Response (CEPAR) team and Health System Disaster coordination.
  • Act as liaison with regional and state EMS offices, as well as other organizations such as the National Association of EMS Physicians and the National Association of EMTs.
  • Serve as military liaison for the combined civilian/Army Emergency Medicine Residency and other military units and programs.
  • Assist in conducting research projects and identifying funding opportunities.
  • Supervise quality improvement processes for EMS services and ensure proper maintenance of special equipment, medications, and supplies.

Requirements

  • Terminal degree in a relevant field.
  • Assistant Professor: Early-level career as a faculty member with appropriate postgraduate training.
  • Associate Professor: Mid-level career faculty member with at least five years at the rank of Assistant Professor or comparable training, background, and experience.
  • Professor: Senior-level career faculty member with at least five years at the rank of Associate Professor or comparable training, background, and experience.
