Job Summary
The Medical College of Georgia, within the Department of Emergency Medicine, is actively seeking a qualified faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor specializing in Pediatric Emergency Medicine. This role encompasses clinical responsibilities in the Pediatric Emergency Department alongside educational duties involving medical students, residents, and fellows. This position is not designated as tenure track.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Duties - 84%
- Provide clinical care in the Pediatric Emergency Department (specific shift requirements apply).
- Manage 12 on-call shifts monthly.
- Internal moonlighting is permitted per departmental guidelines.
- Engage in educational initiatives for the training of fellows, residents, and medical students.
- Contribute to the education of residents and medical students concurrently with patient care.
- Fulfill all core faculty obligations as stipulated by the Department of Emergency Medicine.
MD/DO or equivalent; completion of a Pediatric Emergency Medicine fellowship; training in either Emergency Medicine or Pediatrics.
Rank Requirements:
- Assistant Professor: Early career faculty with appropriate postgraduate training.
- Associate Professor: Mid-career faculty with a minimum of five years at the Assistant Professor level or equivalent experience.
- Professor: Senior faculty with at least five years at the Associate Professor level or equivalent experience.
All candidates must successfully pass a background check prior to employment. Additional checks may be required based on the specific duties of the position.
Compensation and Benefits
This position is based on a fiscal year and is considered full-time (1.0 FTE). Salary and compensation are commensurate with qualifications and experience, subject to funding availability. Comprehensive benefits include medical, dental, vision, paid holidays, vacation, sick leave, retirement plans, tuition waiver, and wellness options.
