Job Summary
The Medical College of Georgia's Department of Emergency Medicine is seeking a qualified faculty member for the role of Instructor-Limited Term. This position is integral to the Emergency Ultrasound fellowship program and involves providing educational guidance and oversight to Emergency Medicine residents, Pediatric Emergency Medicine fellows, and medical students.
The selected candidate will engage actively in both educational responsibilities and patient care, committing to a schedule of 9 shifts per month in the Emergency Department, along with 1 call shift monthly. Adherence to fellowship requirements set by the Department of Emergency Medicine is essential.
Key Responsibilities
1. Participate in the Emergency Ultrasound Fellowship.
2. Fulfill clinical duties, including:
- Work 9 shifts in the Emergency Department each month.
- Take 1-2 call shifts per month.
- Engage in internal moonlighting as per faculty policy.
3. Academic duties include:
- Complete a minimum of 900 ultrasound examinations.
- Initiate at least two research projects, with one being self-designed.
- Present an abstract at a national meeting if accepted.
- Provide a minimum of six hours of teaching to residents or students each month.
- Attend two scanning shifts and two quality assurance meetings monthly.
Qualifications
1. MD/DO or equivalent; completion of Emergency Medicine residency or Pediatric Emergency Medicine fellowship.
2. Must meet the faculty employment qualifications as required by USG institutions.
Compensation and Benefits
This is a full-time position with a commitment of 1.0 FTE, offering a salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. Comprehensive benefits include medical, dental, vision, paid holidays, vacation, sick leave, retirement plans, and tuition waiver options.
