Key Responsibilities

The Mortgage Loan Processor plays a crucial role in ensuring that loans are processed efficiently, submitted, approved, closed, and funded with minimal input from Loan Officers/Originators. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing client communications and keeping them informed throughout the mortgage process.
  • Utilizing existing systems to facilitate the processing of up to 30 client loan files concurrently.
  • Identifying and gathering necessary financial documents for mortgage processing.
  • Conducting credit checks and collaborating with credit bureaus to update customer accounts.
  • Sending verification requests to complete loan packages (e.g., verification of mortgage, deposit, employment).
  • Ordering essential items for thorough loan underwriting (appraisals, title searches, payoffs).
  • Submitting customer files for automated underwriting.
  • Maintaining accurate notes in each loan file.
  • Following up on outstanding items to finalize loan packages.
  • Monitoring loan progress to ensure all required documents are received and statuses are updated.
  • Ensuring loan packages are complete and submitted to underwriters.
  • Communicating with underwriters for approvals and addressing conditions.
  • Providing ongoing support to customers.
  • Promoting a culture of exceptional customer service through consistent communication and product knowledge.
  • Adhering to the company's ethical standards.
  • Performing any additional duties as required for individual loan files.
Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of recent experience in processing a comprehensive range of mortgage loans.
  • Preferred experience in supporting multiple loan officers/originators.
  • Ability to manage up to 30 client loan files simultaneously.
  • Capability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills, adept at gathering borrower information and verifying loan documents.
  • Proven ability to think critically and understand the implications of documentation.
  • Effective communication skills for interacting with various stakeholders.
  • Ability to comprehend and write simple correspondence.
  • Common sense approach to executing detailed instructions.
