Community Engagement Specialist

The Community Engagement Specialist at Fleet Feet is dedicated to fostering connections within our existing running community while also reaching out to new fitness enthusiasts in the local area. This role plays a vital part in supporting store leadership to maintain customer loyalty, meet sales targets, and attract new clientele. You will collaborate closely with Store Management, Staff, various departments of the Fleet Feet Store Support Team, and the surrounding community. Additionally, this position involves regular customer interaction on the sales floor to enhance the customer experience, gather direct feedback, and work alongside colleagues to promote upcoming events.

Key Responsibilities
Marketing and Community Engagement
- Build and enhance relationships with a variety of community organizations, running clubs, and other key stakeholders.
- Work with store leadership to organize events that boost in-store sales.
- Regularly liaise with the regional Marketing contact from the Fleet Feet Store Support Team to ensure alignment with overall company goals.
- Follow all Fleet Feet Brand Standards and Guidelines.
- Manage local event content on the website and social media, utilizing resources provided by Fleet Feet to appeal to a diverse audience.
- Engage in regular floor shifts, assisting customers with the latest Fleet Feet outfitting techniques.
- Keep all staff informed about upcoming events and ensure they feel confident in promoting these to customers.
- Support the Retail Experience Manager during floor shifts and serve as a positive role model for colleagues.
- Strong passion for Fleet Feet's mission and the ability to effectively convey the value Fleet Feet brings to the community.
- Excellent communication skills across various environments and with diverse audiences (both internal and external).
- Ability to multitask, prioritize effectively, and make sound decisions both independently and collaboratively.
- Flexible and adaptable; willing to work a varied schedule that may include weekends and some holidays.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Canva, and Google Suite.
- Experience in the Run Specialty sector or familiarity with the running community.
- Established connections within the local community.

Additional Requirements: This position typically requires approximately 40+ hours of work per week. The role involves moving for extended periods of 2-4 hours without a break, managing task sequences, and completing complex administrative responsibilities. Occasional moderate to heavy lifting, bending, and reaching overhead may be necessary. The work environment involves substantial communication with customers and operating in a retail setting with product displays and inventory management, which may include slippery surfaces. This position operates with minimal day-to-day supervision. Some travel may be necessary for meetings, training, or conferences.
