Position Summary:

The Patient Services Coordinator plays a crucial role in delivering outstanding patient service, both face-to-face and via telephone. This position involves interviewing patients and/or their representatives to gather complete and accurate demographic, financial, and insurance details necessary for billing and account management. The Medical Reception Specialist handles various clerical and patient service tasks essential for maintaining an efficient operation within the surgery center. Responsibilities include managing multiple phone lines, assisting with medical records requests, entering patient information, and processing payments.

Key Responsibilities:

- Exhibit a high level of professionalism and provide exceptional customer service.

- Collect and verify patient demographic and insurance information for accuracy.

- Confirm insurance coverage and collect copays, co-insurance, and outstanding balances.

- Ensure all patient intake forms are completed and signed.

- Manage patient communication channels, including multiple phone lines and messaging portals.

- Schedule patient appointments effectively.

- Process medical record requests in accordance with established policies.

- Collaborate with surgical staff to ensure an optimal patient experience.

Qualifications:

Education:

- High School Diploma or Equivalent Certificate.

Required Skills:

  • Bilingual in Spanish is required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical office or healthcare environment.
  • At least 2 years of experience with healthcare insurance.
  • Proficient computer skills with a minimum typing speed of 30 WPM.
  • Strong commitment to assisting others and delivering excellent customer service.
  • Highly dependable and organized.
  • Outstanding interpersonal abilities.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Aptitude for quick learning, problem-solving, and independent thinking.

Preferred Skills:

- Familiarity with medical terminology.
