Position: Manufacturing Assembly Specialist

Summary:

The Manufacturing Assembly Specialist is responsible for executing assembly tasks to facilitate the mass production of goods within a collaborative team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Actively contribute to a team-oriented atmosphere, assisting colleagues and taking initiative to reduce production delays.
  • Conduct all tasks in a safe and effective manner.
  • Operate machinery according to established work guidelines.
  • Adapt to various workstations and departments based on production demands.
  • Engage in tasks that vary as different models of the same product progress along the assembly line.
  • Interpret job specifications and work instructions to ascertain necessary tasks and material needs.
  • Align workpieces accurately against designated stops or layout marks.
  • Monitor machine operations to identify defects in workpieces or equipment issues.
  • Inspect parts for precision and quality.
  • Collaborate with team members to set up machinery, and handle the stacking, marking, packing, and transportation of completed components.
  • Capable of lifting items weighing up to 35 lbs.
  • Fulfill additional responsibilities as directed by the Supervisor.
  • Operate industrial lift vehicles, such as forklifts, to maneuver products, equipment, or materials.

Training Requirements:

  • Proficient in operating subassembly machinery.
  • Ability to work across all stations within the department.
  • Demonstrates competence in identifying quality issues as per the defective code list.
  • Consistently meets production targets, including daily cycle time requirements.

Education and Experience:

Less than a high school diploma; or up to one month of relevant experience or training; or a combination of education and experience.

Language Proficiency:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety regulations, operating instructions, and procedural manuals. Capable of writing routine reports and correspondence. Proficient in verbal communication with groups of customers or employees.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Competent in calculating rates, ratios, and percentages, as well as interpreting bar graphs.

Reasoning Skills:

Ability to apply common sense to follow instructions provided in written, oral, or diagrammatic form. Capable of addressing problems involving multiple concrete variables in standardized scenarios.
