Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver outstanding member service, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere through eye contact, personalized greetings, and genuine engagement.
  • Execute and accurately document various transactions as per established teller protocols.
  • Assess the acceptability of negotiable instruments and verify member identification.
  • Address member inquiries and concerns, providing effective solutions.
  • Identify opportunities for cross-selling services and refer members to appropriate staff as needed.
  • Manage lobby traffic to ensure timely assistance for all members, creating a friendly environment.
  • Stay informed about the latest financial products and services offered by the credit union, educating members on new options.
  • Maintain a balanced cash drawer in accordance with credit union guidelines.
  • Capable of lifting 50-pound bags of coins and standing for extended periods (up to four hours).
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the management team.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and prioritize responsibilities.
  • Strong teamwork and individual performance skills to consistently meet and exceed goals.
  • Proficient in cash handling, basic arithmetic, ten-key operations, and computer usage.
  • Excellent member service, sales, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED is required.
  • A minimum of 6 to 12 months of prior experience in a teller role, retail sales, or customer service with cash handling responsibilities is necessary.
  • Bilingual abilities are highly preferred.

Additional Information

Our hours of operation are Monday to Thursday from 9 AM to 5:30 PM, Fridays from 9 AM to 6 PM, and Saturdays from 9 AM to 1 PM.

Starting compensation is $20.00 per hour for candidates without prior banking experience.

Floater Tellers receive a 10% pay differential, which is an additional premium on all hours worked. Please note that this differential may change or be discontinued at any time.
