Location DescriptionOur Gaylord, Minnesota location is situated in the heart of Minnesota's Healthy Heartland region. The area offers a unique blend of natural beauty, outdoor recreation, and cultural attractions. Our facility is easily accessible from major highways and is within a short drive from the Twin Cities and other nearby cities.
ResponsibilitiesThe Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for the daily operation of the Maintenance Department. This includes coordinating repairs, labor, and resources, as well as providing requisitions for repair parts. The supervisor will also schedule non-union labor for routine scheduled and overtime work, approve vacation and PPT requests, and provide reviews of direct staff.
The Maintenance Supervisor will work closely with Production Supervisors, leads, and operators to gather information on issues surrounding the performance of production and process equipment. This will involve troubleshooting problems with equipment, providing a safe work environment for employees, and recognizing and resolving operating problems to minimize their impact on operations.
The supervisor will also be responsible for enforcing company policies in a fair and consistent manner, encouraging suggestions from employees to improve production, quality, safety, and control costs, and communicating relevant information to employees on shift and to on-coming employees at shift change.
QualificationsTo be successful in this role, you will need a Bachelor's degree in Business Management or Engineering, or 3+ years of maintenance experience. A minimum of 3 years of maintenance management experience is also required, with experience with Lean Manufacturing principles preferred.
You will also need knowledge of basic mechanics, welding, electrical, fabrication, preventative maintenance, plant operations, government environmental and safety regulations, refrigerated foods processing and packaging, food safety and sanitation principles (GMP, SQF), and state and federal rules and regulations (USDA, FDA, OSHA, etc.).
Additionally, you will need strong supervisory skills, including the ability to supervise personnel in a manufacturing environment, communicate and interact with co-workers, supervisors, and the general public, and recognize problem situations and take appropriate steps to resolve them.
Skills and AbilitiesYou will need to possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to make detailed presentations and present them to upper levels of management. You will also need to be able to supervise department personnel in a fair and consistent manner, recognize problem situations and take appropriate steps to resolve them, and maintain accurate and up-to-date records.
Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, as well as Auto CAD and inventory control computer programs (SAP), are also required. Leadership and team skills, including interpersonal, leading teams, and communication, are essential for success in this role.
