Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Social Worker to join our team at the International Institute of St. Louis. As a Social Worker, you will play a critical role in providing client-centered, trauma-informed services to refugees and immigrants in our community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments and service planning to assist clients with a range of issues, including health, mental health, domestic violence, and resettlement stress.
  • Facilitate health education, health promotion, and wellness groups, as well as provide individual follow-up and psychoeducation as needed.
  • Provide crisis intervention and connect clients to immediate resources, as necessary.
  • Refer clients to appropriate outside agencies and follow up with clients and agencies to document the use and/or success of referrals.
  • Supervise social work interns, as applicable, and conduct outreach and training to build capacity in the community around working with refugees and immigrants.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) or Bachelor's degree in Social Work (BSW) with 2+ years of case management experience.
  • Group facilitation experience and 1-2 years of experience working with international populations, preferred.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed and strengths-based frameworks, as well as intercultural practice frameworks.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, work well as a team member, and maintain confidentiality of client and organization information.
