Atlanta Mission is in search of a proactive and strategic Vice President of Operations to lead and enhance the operational aspects of our organization. This executive will work closely with the CEO and will play a crucial role in the Executive Team. Responsibilities include overseeing Facilities, Fleet, Food Services, Thrift Operations, and the Donation Center, ensuring these sectors function effectively, align with our mission, and collaborate seamlessly with all other departments to provide an exceptional experience for our clients. Key Responsibilities:

Operational Oversight: Provide strategic and operational direction to Facilities, Fleet, Food Services, Thrift Operations, and the Donation Center. Ensure alignment with Atlanta Mission's overarching goals and strategies while promoting excellent trauma-informed care environments. Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for operational areas. Utilize data and analytics to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement. Develop and manage budgets for all operational sectors, ensuring effective use of financial resources in line with organizational priorities. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies across all operational areas. Implement risk management strategies to address potential operational challenges.

Strategic Development: Collaborate with the CEO and Executive Team to formulate and implement both short-term and long-term operational strategies that resonate with our organization's mission, vision, and values. Propel initiatives that boost operational efficiency and support organizational growth. Use analytics to assess the impact of our operational programs and initiatives, providing insights to the Executive Team for informed decision-making. Partner with internal and external stakeholders to cultivate strategic alliances that bolster our organizational and operational goals.

Team Development: Lead and mentor the operations team, nurturing a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Ensure team members are well-equipped to excel in their current roles and are prepared for future career advancements. Collaborate with HR to implement training and development initiatives aimed at enhancing team performance.

Capital Projects/Real Estate: Work alongside the CEO, Executive Team, and Real Estate Committee to establish organization-wide capital objectives for each fiscal year, within a strategic, multi-year capital plan that also addresses ongoing maintenance needs across all locations.

Facilities Management: Create and maintain exemplary facilities designed for trauma-informed care that inspire hope and healing for all who enter. Ensure all facilities are well-maintained, safe, compliant with regulatory standards, and reflect our mission, vision, and strategy. Develop and execute maintenance and improvement plans to support service delivery.

Food Services: Oversee the management of food services operations, ensuring the provision of high-quality, nutritious meals in safe and compliant kitchen environments. Implement processes to enhance food service delivery and operational efficiency.

Thrift Operations: Manage Atlanta Mission's thrift stores, ensuring efficient operations that meet financial objectives and support the mission. Develop strategies to maximize revenue and operational effectiveness.

Donation Center: Supervise the operations of the Donation Center, ensuring efficient processing of donations to meet program needs and thrift store objectives. Formulate strategies to optimize the use of donated goods.

Fleet Management: Oversee the acquisition, management, maintenance, and utilization of the organization's fleet of vehicles, ensuring they are well-maintained, safe, and effectively support the operational needs of our ministry.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, operations management, or a related field; master's degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in operations management, particularly within non-profit or mission-driven organizations.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing diverse operational sectors.

  • Preferred experience in leading large capital facilities projects.
