C&I Portfolio Management Officer

Position Overview:
The Commercial & Industrial Client Manager is responsible for overseeing a portfolio of commercial clients, focusing on the solicitation, assessment, and approval of loan applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Independently generate sales leads and collaborate with Business Development officers and Branch Managers to establish new C&I business connections and enhance product sales.
- Administer a portfolio of existing clients, ensuring loan quality through diligent monitoring and management of all loan administration tasks, including financial information collection, risk rating updates, and timely renewals of credit lines.
- Supervise the accuracy and efficiency of loan administration processes, ensuring completeness of applications and prompt processing, funding, and closing of approved loans.
- Conduct interviews with applicants to gather necessary information for loan applications.
- Request and analyze credit reports, background checks, and references to evaluate loan applicants thoroughly.
- Assess the financial status and creditworthiness of applicants to determine the viability of loan approvals.
- Compile comprehensive loan packages and negotiate loan structures with applicants, addressing fees, repayment options, and credit terms.
- Present loan proposals to the appropriate approving authority or Loan Committee for consideration.
- Engage with C&I customers, prospects, and referral sources to promote and sell banking products and services.
- Address customer inquiries regarding small business loans and provide necessary information.
- Supply loan data to support marketing initiatives and sales promotion efforts as needed.
- Encourage cross-selling of additional Bank products and services that align with customer needs, such as Business Checking and Cash Management.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial lending.
- Formal training in credit analysis is preferred.
Skills and Competencies:
- In-depth knowledge of C&I commercial lending practices, including a solid grasp of underwriting and credit assessment.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proficient understanding of loan documentation requirements.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the capacity to prioritize effectively.
- Thorough familiarity with the products and services offered by the Bank.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to maintain composure and efficiency under pressure to meet deadlines.
