Position Overview:
The Commercial & Industrial (C&I) Relationship Manager is responsible for overseeing a portfolio of existing clients, focusing on the solicitation, assessment, evaluation, and approval of commercial loan applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Independently generate sales leads and collaborate with Business Development officers and Branch Managers to establish new C&I business relationships and enhance product sales.
  • Manage an existing loan portfolio, ensuring loan quality and administration, including the collection of financial data, updating risk assessments, and facilitating timely renewals of credit lines.
  • Supervise the accuracy and efficiency of loan administration processes, ensuring completeness of loan applications and timely processing, funding, and closing of approved loans.
  • Conduct interviews with applicants to gather necessary information for loan applications.
  • Request and analyze credit reports, background checks, and references to evaluate loan applicants.
  • Assess the financial status, creditworthiness, and banking history of applicants to determine the viability of loan approvals.
  • Compile comprehensive loan packages and negotiate loan structures with applicants, addressing fees, repayment options, and credit terms.
  • Present loan proposals to the appropriate approving authority or Loan Committee for final approval.
  • Engage with C&I customers, prospects, and referral sources to promote and sell banking products and services.
  • Address customer inquiries regarding small business loans and provide relevant information.
  • Supply loan data to support marketing initiatives and sales promotion efforts as needed.
  • Promote and cross-sell additional banking products and services tailored to customer needs, such as Business Checking and Cash Management solutions.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial lending.
  • Formal training in credit analysis is preferred.

Skills and Competencies:

  • In-depth knowledge of C&I commercial lending practices, including underwriting and credit assessment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proficient understanding of loan documentation requirements.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively.
  • Thorough knowledge of the products and services offered by the bank.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to maintain composure and efficiency under pressure to meet deadlines.
