Key Responsibilities:
Reporting directly to the Executive Chef, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of food and the overall functionality of the kitchen, collaborating with other management to guarantee the seamless operation of the establishment.
Core Duties Include:
- Collaborating with management to create diverse menus that align with the hotel's vision and policies
- Setting work schedules and organizing kitchen personnel
- Understanding and managing labor costs effectively
- Overseeing inventory and kitchen requirements
- Delivering high-quality, consistent dishes that adhere to the established menu and meet the hotel's standards, as well as customer expectations
- Communicating clearly and effectively with all team members
- Listening to team inquiries and providing constructive feedback in a positive manner
- Assisting in problem-solving and offering solutions and support as needed
- Training junior chefs and kitchen staff, employing teaching strategies that convey information clearly and accessibly
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Sous Chef in a fast-paced restaurant environment
- Culinary degree is mandatory
- Familiarity with best practices for training kitchen staff and implementing kitchen protocols
- High degree of creativity and dependability
- Availability for a flexible work schedule
- Understanding of menu costing procedures
- Proficiency in Spanish is a plus
