Senior Culinary Leader

The Senior Sous Chef position is a pivotal leadership role within the culinary team, driving exceptional food and guest experiences at our location. We seek an experienced culinarian with a passion for culinary excellence and a proven track record of coaching and motivating team members to deliver outstanding results.
Key Responsibilities- Proactively coach and motivate team members to achieve their best
- Identify opportunities for improvement in location operations and drive positive change
- Monitor quality and sanitation standards, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for guests and team members
- Deliver against financial goals and budgets, maintaining a focus on profitability and efficiency
- Set the standard for culinary excellence, inspiring team members to strive for perfection
- Oversee equipment maintenance routines, ensuring optimal performance and minimizing downtime
- Communicate and monitor par levels, ensuring accurate inventory management and minimizing waste
- Support the creation of menu build diagrams and monitor output to ensure consistency and quality
- Ensure all routine kitchen management procedures are followed, including opening and closing checklists, cleaning schedules, temperature checks, waste sheets, and pest control
- Create menu specifications as needed, driving innovation and creativity in our culinary offerings
- Set standards for chef table setups, ensuring a visually appealing and inviting dining experience
- Create prep sheets and line layout diagrams to ensure consistent and efficient food production
- Perform daily line checks to verify quality and flavor standards, ensuring a consistently high level of culinary excellence
- Lead game day culinary operations, driving exceptional results and exceeding guest expectations
- Manage end-of-month inventory in partnership with the purchasing team, ensuring accurate recording of stock and minimizing waste
- Proactively monitor and manage food waste, driving cost savings and reducing environmental impact
- Deliver training and coaching to team members on both menu and general culinary skills, ensuring a high level of competence and confidence
- Manage employee breaks, ensuring the well-being and satisfaction of all team members
- Deliver pre-shift meetings to set the tone for events, driving a positive and productive work environment
- Conduct corrective action with team members to address performance issues, ensuring a fair and equitable work environment
- Complete onboarding and orientation for new members of the culinary team, ensuring a smooth transition and optimal performance
- Ensure all elements of food ordering, delivery, prep, transportation, and service are conducted to a high standard, in line with Levy's sanitation and safety Core Signatures
- Support other Levy locations as needed, driving collaboration and consistency across the organization
- Support the maintenance and update of recipes, driving innovation and creativity in our culinary offerings
- Manage the culinary department budget, ensuring fiscal responsibility and optimal resource allocation
- Other duties as assigned
- 2+ years of experience in a culinary leadership position
- Culinary degree preferred
- High level of computer literacy
- Understanding of financial concepts
- Passion for hospitality, food, and retail
- Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
