We currently operate multiple advanced greenhouse facilities, with plans for additional regional salad greenhouse hubs.

The Food Safety & Quality team at BrightFarms is seeking a Food Safety & Quality Manager to spearhead the execution of our food safety initiatives at our greenhouse operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Efficiently oversee production processes to guarantee product quality while consistently adhering to SQF standards.
  • Conduct routine environmental monitoring program (EMP) sampling, including water, swabs, product, and media samples.
  • Educate and assess the effectiveness of food safety and quality protocols among staff and management.
  • Manage the pest control system and perform regular evaluations of its effectiveness.
  • Lead both internal and external audits and inspections.
  • Assist in the implementation of food safety regulations and policies across the farm.
  • Conduct site Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) inspections and necessary drills.
  • Standardize best practices and develop forms for KPI collection.
  • Review and verify the completion of food safety documentation.
  • Administer the farm's food safety strategy.
  • Exhibit flexibility and willingness to assist with various tasks to ensure smooth greenhouse operations.
  • Perform risk assessments and provide recommendations to management.
  • Facilitate corrective action processes by identifying root causes and implementing corrective action plans (CAPA).
  • Collaborate across departments to safely introduce new processes, programs, and equipment.
  • Foster a robust food safety culture within the organization.
  • Complete additional responsibilities as assigned.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • 5-8 years of experience in a production or related environment.
  • Ability to develop standard operating procedures (SOPs), policies, and food safety plans compliant with FDA and GFSI regulations.
  • Detail-oriented and data-driven, with experience in database management being advantageous.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Self-motivated problem solver with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Able to thrive in a dynamic and rapidly changing environment.
  • Exemplary critical thinking and leadership abilities, setting high standards for food safety, quality, efficiency, and conduct.

Working Conditions:

  • Must be capable of meeting the physical demands of the role, including lifting up to 50 pounds and working in varying temperature conditions.
