We are currently seeking a Second Shift Operations Manager to join our team.
Role Summary
The Operations Manager will oversee daily management and organization of a greenhouse production area, ensuring efficient workflow by assigning tasks, creating schedules, and leading a dedicated workforce.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervision of Operations: The Operations Manager will directly oversee greenhouse activities, ensuring optimal performance. Responsibilities include planning and executing production schedules while providing guidance to production leads. Resource allocation will be essential to minimize downtime and achieve production goals.
- Cost Management: The Operations Manager will be responsible for meeting key performance indicators related to labor and operational expenses. A focus on continuous improvement will be vital, leading initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Food Safety Compliance: Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe greenhouse environment is crucial. The Operations Manager will ensure adherence to food safety protocols and best practices, as well as monitor and verify all related documentation.
- Leadership Development: Assisting in the onboarding of new team members, conducting performance reviews, and ensuring proper training will be key aspects of this role, aligned with BrightFarms' leadership principles.
- Greenhouse Management: As part of the leadership team, the Operations Manager will contribute to all facets of greenhouse management, providing necessary labor and resources.
- Team Collaboration: Building strong relationships with colleagues and fostering teamwork across shifts will be essential for success.
Qualifications
- 1-3 years of experience in food production is preferred.
- Experience in perishable food sectors, particularly in value-added processes, is advantageous. Candidates from various manufacturing or distribution backgrounds will also be considered.
- Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite, is required.
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills are essential.
Preferred Skills
- Bilingual candidates (English and Spanish) are encouraged to apply.
