About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Vice President to join our Global Data, Intellectual Property, Technology & Innovation (DITI) Team within BNY's Legal Department. This role will be based in Pittsburgh or New York and will be a hybrid position.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advising on the strategy, planning, and implementation of BNY's technology projects and adoption of emerging technologies.
  • Partnering with Risk, Compliance, and Legal colleagues to advise on the development and deployment of digital products and services.
  • Drafting agreement templates and providing support with client negotiations in collaboration with business product attorneys.
  • Staying up-to-date on legal and regulatory developments in the financial services sector involving technology and emerging technologies.
  • Providing legal support in responding to regulatory examinations and inquiries.
  • Advising on open-source software use, ensuring compliance with licenses, mitigating risks, and safeguarding BNY's intellectual property.
  • Developing and leading training programs to educate stakeholders on technology and emerging technology-related legal issues.
  • Collaborating with public affairs, regulatory, and regional colleagues to engage in the review and consultation of legislative policies and proposals related to technology.
Requirements
  • 3-7 years' experience in a related field.
  • A strong working knowledge of technology laws.
  • Knowledge of emerging technology developments and use cases in the financial services sector is desirable.
  • In-house counsel experience is preferred.
  • Excellent contract drafting and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative manner and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proactive self-starter with a strong interest in technology and emerging technologies.

The base salary for this position is expected to be between $113,000 and $220,000 per year, depending on experience and market location. However, base salary will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
