Position Overview:

Baker Commercial Landscaping is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Landscape Maintenance Supervisor to lead a team effectively. The ideal candidate will adhere to company protocols and ensure that daily tasks are completed efficiently and on schedule. Meticulous record-keeping of daily logs and equipment inventories is essential. A strong commitment to attendance and attention to landscaping details is required. A valid driver's license and eligibility for company insurance are advantageous.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage scheduled tasks, assigning duties to team members and coordinating activities on-site.
  • Operate, maintain, and inspect landscaping machinery, reporting any issues to the maintenance department.
  • Train and guide team members in performing various landscaping services.
  • Ensure crew compliance with safety regulations, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in line with OSHA standards.
  • Adhere to local, state, and federal regulations regarding the handling of hazardous materials.
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of landscaping tools, vehicles, and work areas.
  • Exhibit professionalism in interactions with both company staff and clients.

Job Requirements:

  • Physical ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds, as well as to stand, kneel, and bend for extended periods.
  • Capability to work in various weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and humidity.
  • Availability for full-time work, including weekends and holidays.
  • Possess valid documentation to work in the United States.
  • Demonstrate punctuality and maintain an excellent attendance record.
  • Safely operate landscaping and irrigation tools, including gas-powered equipment.
  • Identify common plant species, trees, and turf types along with their watering requirements.
  • Utilize hand tools such as rakes, shovels, pruners, and tillers effectively.
  • Install or remove sod, apply mulch, fertilizers, and soil amendments as needed.
  • Install various edging materials, including wood, steel, stone, or composite.
  • Plant a variety of flowers, shrubs, trees, and ground covers.
  • Water plants and sod appropriately by hand.
  • Lead and coordinate crew activities and work schedules.
  • Manage project budgets and report on job completion and timesheets.
  • Communicate requests for equipment, labor, and materials to management.
  • Identify utility locations prior to excavation and report any hazards encountered on-site.
